Most postal musea have on their websites a time line of the development of the postal services. So the museum in your area will also have one for your region. Go to this postal museum and find information about this time line. Make your choice for a special episode and write a short essay about the persons involved, about the organization of the services and abou how these persons had to negotiate with local  or "national" authorities.

This process can be understood as part of a communications revolution which, along with the media revolution and the scientific revolution, is characteristic of the transition from the pre-modern epoch to the modern one.
